High Insulin & Pain

Many people are walking around with high insulin level and don’t know it. Sometimes they have no symptoms, yet other times they’re diagnosed with multiple diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, polycystic ovary disease, or maybe pain conditions such as fibromyalgia or arthritis. Often times the underlying theme of all the conditions is high insulin. When a patient comes to you with such conditions or comes to you saying, “ I have a history of hypoglycemia” or “ I have history of chronic fatigue,” or something like that- think insulin because typically American diets are very high in carbohydrates and high saturated fat, which promotes deregulation of insulin.

When insulin is deregulated it can deregulate the body’s ability to handle cholesterol so we get high cholesterol. Another thing that happens with insulin is it can cause the inflammatory papillae to become activated, causing chronic pain that often is not easily diagnosable.

Sometimes the pain is activated by allergies, which is more complicated. You may take something in, in terms of food that you are allergic to; or breathe something in that you are allergic to such as carpets or fragrances. Whether it be pollen or out-gas from chemicals, your body’s “mast cells” produce “histamine” which activates inflammation. The histamine can settles in very locally, such as bee sting; or it can be transported to the brain, and the brain will shift it around and it will go out to another part of the body. Often inflammation goes into the musculoskeletal system. This is known as “fibromyalgia,” a very painful inflammatory condition.

Many people who have multiple problems come to their physician, particularly women who have digestive things –gas bloating musculoskeletal pain asthma brain fogging—they got told that they can’t passable have all the staff. It’s all in their head; they need to see a psychiatrist which makes them want to manifest all the illness in psychiatric condition. It is important that biology of the body be looked at first. The high insulin with it is ability to deregulate so many things is often the underlying theme. One thing is insulin will do is cause a little energy producers in cell to not function properly. Scientific studies have shown that people who have fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndrome chronic fatigue actually those little power houses don’t work right and high insulin will contribute to that. So anyone with those conditions needs to really seriously have an insulin test.

How we can help those people first diet is important. It will certainly push them in the right direction. The diet is not one that’s a real happy diet for Americans. it requires is to have all the processed and fast foods taken out, chose to heal your body everyday by consuming pure foods rich in vitamins and minerals. Continue to eat plenty of vegetables, fruit, and lean meat. Resist the temptation of sugary treats and other refined food.
